Mallaig Yachting Marina is run by the Mallaig Harbour Authority. Construction was completed in 2011 and state of the art shower/toilet/laundry facilities followed in 2016.
About Mallaig
Mallaig is one of the most picturesque villages on the rugged North West coastline of Scotland. The area is a haven for sailors of all types due to the sheltered waters, stunning Highland scenery, local ammenities and facilities.
Mallaig is still a busy fishing/ferry port but with the decline in the number of fishing boats using the port the Mallaig Harbour Authority created a new yachting facility which was completed in September 2011 at a cost of £900,000.
About the Marina
Season 2012 was the first full year of operation and since then visitor numbers have grown substantially. In April 2016, a brand new marina facilities building was officially opened by Sir Cameron Mackintosh and this, coupled with provision of a new safe walkway, seating area, information panels and beach access completed the development work providing all of the state of the art facilities that marina visitors and regular customers require.
Mallaig is the ideal base from which to explore Scotland’s stunning isles and its new marina has opened up these opportunities for a much larger audience.
The construction of Mallaig Marina was part-financed under the Sail West project supported under the European Union INTERREG IVA Programme for Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland 2007-2013 with co-funding from the Highland Council, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and Mallaig Harbour Authority.
